NZ Armwrestling has been formed in 2013 with the aim and goal to organise, promote and manage armwrestling as a recognised and official sport in New Zealand.
Armwrestling has exploded across the world in the last decade and it has landed in New Zealand! Armwrestling has always been popular and everybody has gave it a go. Unfortunetly there were no clubs, organisations in New Zealand to promote this exhilarating sport - those days are over. Armwrestling in NZ has become so much more than a pub sport. Our new members to the sport are being introduced to an art form, the armwrestling community and the will to be a champion.
NZ Championships are held annually as well as numerous local and district competitions across New Zealand
We continuously strive to improve by searching through our rich local talent and to popularise armwrestling as the exhilarating and sensational spectator sport it is in New Zealand.
With over 43 Countries and some 1800 competitors participating in The World Championships every year - New Zealand is one of the newest members to be participating.
Registerd New Zealand to be part of WAF (World Armwrestling Federation)
The World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) is the universally recognized global governing body of amateur arm wrestling and comprises more than 85 member countries.
2013 New Zealand competed for the 1st time at the World Championships.
Registerd as an incorporated society
In 2013 the New Zealand Armwrestling Federation has successfully registered as incorporated society.
Being part of something special
In 2013 the New Zealand Armwrestling Federation put on a show at NZ Fitness Expo and Big Boys Toys - the two biggest expos in New Zealand. Both events were a huge success and both organisers have invited NZ Armwrestling to be back for future events.
